1990s – formation of DPC (Dabhol Power Company) by Enron, GE, Bechtel along with MPDCL (Maharashtra Power Development).

April 2001 – GoM constituted Energy Review Committee which recommended negotiations with DPC.

August 2001 – Enron communicated to the Negotiation committee its desire to exit. Negotiation committee recommended that NTPC (through Ministry of Power) and GAIL (through MoPNG) could play crucial role.

November 2004 – Union Cabinet constituted EGoM (Empowered group of ministers) to formulate plan to revive and restructure DPC.

July 2005 – Ratnagiri Gas & Power Pvt. Ltd (RGPPL) was incorporated with NTPC and GAIL as its promoters.

October 2005 – Assets of DPC transferred to RGPPL.

February 2018 – Pursuant to an order pronounced by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, New Delhi (“NCLAT”) under Section 421 of the Companies Act, 2013 on February 28, 2018, the Hon’ble (NCLAT) approved a Scheme of Arrangement (Demerger) pursuant to which the LNG business of the RGPPL has been demerged and vested with the Konkan LNG Pvt. Ltd. (KLPL).

February 2020 – Conversion of the Company from Private Limited to Public Limited on February 18, 2020 whereby the name of the Company changed to Konkan LNG Limited.

March 2020 – Based on holding data of GAIL, equity holding has increased to 69.06%. Accordingly, Konkan LNG Limited has become subsidiary of GAIL and in turn Government Company from 27.03.2020.
